My interest in health and healing developed due to my own health problems. Because of my science background, I searched extensively for health solutions in the fields of biochemistry, medicine, and alternative health.
A born investigator, I knew the deeper I dug the more I would discover the source of lasting health. The answers and solutions that began to surface were in the area of cellular health.
The key question was, “What causes health at the cellular level?” If you were able to create healthy cells, you would have healthy organs, glands, and systems throughout the entire body.
Being a baby boomer, I didn’t accept the concept that illness was normal. To me, health was normal, not illness. The First Law of Biochemistry is you are either growing or decaying. I chose growth. I did everything to create the perfect internal environment to grow healthy cells.
I started putting what I was learning into practice. My field study was my own body. The basic concept was: health is putting the “good stuff” in and moving the “bad stuff” out.
Illness is putting the “bad stuff” in and not getting the “bad stuff” out. Up until this point in my life I had been doing the “bad stuff” routine. I changed course and began to focus on ways to become clean internally. There was no point in putting the good stuff in while my body was still so polluted internally - the priority was to get clean first.
I explored all sorts of ways to cleanse, however, they were all so awful - I experienced a great deal of pain and very little gain. Some of the methods did more harm than good - there had to be a better way. I continued my search for easier methods that were less intrusive, less aggressive, and less unpleasant.
As I continued this quest, which has now become my life quest, I found that, unfortunately, most methods were geared to either alleviating or masking symptoms - so few of the solutions actually addressed the cause. If only symptoms were treated, they would just re-appear. These solutions were only temporary, not lasting - in other words: quick fix, band aids.
The answer lay in addressing the internal environment. Creating a clean, internal environment was the priority, followed by giving the cells nutrients that they really needed to make them healthy.
I am happy to say that, although I am now in my mid-50’s, I feel as if I am 20. My life experiment has been very successful; my health is now flourishing - thanks to that First Law of Biochemistry.
