1. Water: how much water is in your cells?
Pure clean water enhances cellular functions, increases energy, transports nutrients, and accelerates waste removal. At birth we have 90% water within our cells. The elderly have been known to have less than 50% water.
We need water to function properly, so consciously drink more water each day. This is clean, filtered, plain water, besides the juice, tea, coffee, and whatever other fluids you drink. Note that tea, coffee, and alcohol - as well as soda pop - all dehydrate you. Make sure to drink clean water all by itself.
Move your body after you drink the water. If you drink and do not move, the water just goes through your body. It is the call for water by your muscles that causes it to be absorbed into the cells.
2. Vitamins and Minerals: are they being absorbed?
Evaluate your supplements in terms of quality and absorption. The higher the absorption, the less you need.
3. Energy: how is your energy level?
This is your body’s communication system asking you for help. What increases your energy levels? Consciously consume more quality water, nutrients, and rest.
4. Moods: are you feeling sunny or stormy most of the time?
Are you focusing on problems or solutions? Your moods follow your thoughts. Your health and energy follow your moods.
5. Schedule: how much time do you spend in nature?
A great way to re-balance is to spend time in nature. Go for a walk, a hike, a bike ride. Go outside to gain perspective again. Go and absorb nature’s peace and harmony.
6. Breath: are you a chest-breather or a belly-breather?
The easiest way to de-stress anywhere, anytime, is to retrain your breathing pattern. Notice that when you are tense, your breath is shallower and is from the chest area. When you are relaxed, you naturally take deeper breaths from the belly.
Focus on deep breathing until this becomes your automatic response to life’s stressors. Focus on keeping your spine straight. A slouching posture hinders breathing.
7. Exercise: what do you do to get your blood moving?
Your body can only absorb nutrients if you help by circulating your blood. Find an exercise you like and do it often. The frequency is more important than the duration.
Stretching is a great way to relax. A rebounder, or mini-trampoline, is a perfect solution to help your blood and lymphatic system circulate nutrients to the cells and toxins away from the cells. Move your body more often!
8. Food: are you feeding or polluting your body?
Make your food your medicine. Feed your cells premium, quality fuel. This will help your energy, your thoughts and your moods. A quality fuel satisfies your hunger.
Have you ever eaten, felt full and yet are still hungry? This is because you ate foods that had low fuel quality - eat real food, not refined foods. Eat more fruits, vegetables, proteins and less starches, sugars, and carbohydrates.
9. Sunshine: how much light have you got today?
Increase your internal sunshine factor by enjoying more light. Dull days outside are better than dull days inside. Go outside and go for a walk – often. We are light-beings – we need light.
10. Stillness: how quiet is your mind?
Spend time alone by quietening yourself, your mind, emotions, thoughts, body, and spirit. Practice being still. Say to yourself over and over again, “I have no place to go – nothing to do”, until you feel a sense of peace and a shift in your tension level occur. Relax! This is the fastest way to restore your batteries. It is excellent to do this in nature.
The best time to be still is anywhere, anytime, especially when you are tense and stressed. You will feel different if you make this a regular practice. Create a sense of peacefulness by being still. Short naps really help to revive you as well. Meditation is an art form that really has deep physical benefits in your body.
11. Life Path: what is your purpose?
Why are you here? At the end of your life, what do you want to have accomplished? Take steps in that direction today. Know you are making a difference by being a difference today. Practice random acts of kindness and watch what happens to your body, your health, and your life.
